Entry Guidelines

  • Tallest Sunflower: judging will be via a photograph of you standing next to your sunflower and your own honest measurement (from the base of the stem to the top of the flower). You are welcome to enter by emailing a digital photograph to: info@islingtonorganicgrowers.org.uk no laer than Thursday 23 September.
  • Set of 3 potatoes: from the same variety.  Judged on good colour, and condition
  • Set of 4 tomatoes: from the same variety. Presented as set of 4 with stalks on, judged on good colour, and condition. Can be grown indoors or outdoors.
  • Pot of herbs and/or salad: any variety can be mixed.
  • Ugly vegetable: any variety. 
  • Victoria Sponge: Points awarded for taste & presentation.
  • Best community plot: if you would like to enter the Best Community Plot category. Please email a contact name and phone number, and the name and address incl postcode of your community plot to greenliving@islington.gov.uk by Friday 16th August . All community growing spaces are welcome to enter and Edible Islington projects are especially encouraged. Further information will be posted shortly on the website about judging criteria.

Children's Categories (12 and under)

  • Funny Face: see if you can design a Funny Face using home grown produce, plants grown from seed and recycled materials. This is a chance to come up with the most creative uses for the plants and food that you've grown and turn otherwise waste products into art. See example below!

Conditions of Entry

  1. All exhibits shall be the work of the exhibitor.
  2. All exhibits must be entered not later that 1.30pm on the day of the show.
  3. The show reserves the right to publish the results by any means available, including photography.
  4. The organisers accept no liability whatsoever for any damage to any exhibits.
  5. No exhibit shall be removed from the Show before the conclusion of the presentation of the prizes, but it shall then be removed by the Exhibitor within the time announced by the judges, all exhibits not cleared away by such time will be disposed of by the show organisers.
  6. Exhibitors are asked to make no more than one entry per class.

The Organisers of this show have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Organisers and all the Officials and Stewards.
